Chocolate avocado fruit dip might just be one of my favorite kid foods to whip up! My kids are dippers and I can usually get them to eat any fruit or vegetable if they can dip it into something yummy. Most fruit dips at the store include a hefty dose of high-fructose corn syrup! We do not need to be eating that, it has been linked to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (among a long list of other illnesses)!
When I came across a pudding recipe that included fruit right in the recipe, I decided that this would make a great dip. Oh boy was I right. My kids LOVE Chocolate Avocado Fruit Dip! Plus, this recipe is full of antioxidants (cocoa), healthy fats (avocado and coconut oil), minerals (sea salt), and it’s even anti-bacterial (honey)! Dip on kids, dip on…

This was excellent! made it for a party tonight and everyone enjoyed it!
Michelle, awesome! I love to hear good reviews. I make it for almost every party we have because its so easy and I love it 🙂
i’ve noticed flavor of avocados differs depending on ripeness, what degree of ripeness do you think would be best for this since i usually only use avos for guac and savory dishes. also i’m in florida have you ever used the florida large green avos this way they generally aren’t as creamy?
I use them at the ripeness I would make my guac. I do not like it when they have brown spots. They have to be at peak ripeness for a creamy, almost buttery pudding/dip
If you don’t have coconut oil on hand, is there a substitute?
You could either just leave it out, or try substituting a nut butter.
Good thought–thanks!
Nice recipe, I like it
I have tried several avocado recipes for chocolate dip and this was by far the best. Thank you so much for your delicious recipe. I put mine in crepes strawberries and bananas and it was heavenly
