Low Carb White BBQ Sauce
White BBQ sauce originated in Alabama, and it is more than just a sauce for grilled meats, it doubles as a dressing, dipping sauce, or a marinade. It is packed with flavor and a wonderful addition to summer barbeques!
This white BBQ sauce is a rich and intensely flavored sauce that doubles as a sauce and a marinade – but be sure to keep the two pots separate to avoid any partially cooked chicken coming into contact with the sauce. The macros and timings indicated here are for sauce only, but (as pictured), I have shown how versatile it can be using it with beautifully grilled chicken breasts, which is also featured in the method as an example of use.

Low Carb White BBQ Sauce
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 oz mayonnaise
- 1 TB apple cider vinegar
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- Sea salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 2 skinless and deboned chicken breasts we use Butcher Box meat
Instructions
- Combine the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Set about a third of the sauce aside in a little bowl to use as a sauce when serving and the remainder as the baste to use while your meat is cooking. (Dividing them into two bowls prevents dangerous double-dipping between the sauce and partially cooked chicken.)
- Cook your chicken to your liking (on the BBQ) or in the oven. In the last 10-12 minutes, use a pastry brush to generally baste each breast with the bowl of marinade.
- Once the chicken is done, serve with the untouched sauce (which you can dust with a little more cayenne pepper if you wish). Yum! Turn it into a chicken salad and use this sauce as the dressing if you want to!
