My kids love jam on their Grain-Free Mickey Mouse Pancakes! While my mom does make jam every year, she only gives us so much, and then we need to find some at the store. I have searched far and wide to find an organic, low sugar (or no sugar) jam that tastes good.
I want to keep as much sugar out of my children’s diet, without sacrificing flavor. I have tried my hand at making jam in the past, too. I decided that I wanted to simplify my method. With this recipe, I can whip up a batch of fresh berry blender jam in minutes. Plus it’s healthy, organic and probiotic….with very little sweetener and no sugar!
Chia Kombucha Blender Jam
You can whip up a batch of fresh berry blender jam in minutes. Plus it's healthy, organic, and probiotic....with a very little sweetener and no sugar!
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh or frozen organic berries (you can also use other fruits like peaches or mangos)
- 3 Tbsp organic chia seeds (you can add more if you find that it's not gelling)
- 1/4 tsp Himalayan sea salt
- 1/2 cup kombucha
- 2-3 Tbsp raw local honey (optional)
- Extra flavorings you can add: coconut flakes, cinnamon, jalapeños (for those who like spice like ME!), clove, basil, and other fresh herbs and spices
Instructions
1. Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until you reach the desired consistency. You need to make sure the chia seeds are well blended because they really gel the jam when they are broken down.
2. Let your blender jam sit for a few minutes before using and it will continue to gel.
3. Store Chia Kombucha Blender Jam in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

What can I use instead of kombucha? I love it but unfortunately, it burns my esophagus :-(. ACV too 🙁 :-(.
Any kind of juice will work too
nice
This looks SO good. I love kombucha and started making it at home… my hubby hates anything vinegar-like and loves jam. Let’s call this one a compromise… 😀
Marriages are always about compromise. Glad I could help 🙂
Brilliant idea!
Thanks 🙂
What a great idea! I might finally pick up some chia seeds for this recipe 🙂
Wow, that sounds almost like ‘magic’ jam! I had no idea it could be done this way (still fairly new to the ‘real food’ lifestyle, kombucha, and chia seeds). Thanks for sharing; I’m super impressed! 🙂
This recipe happened by accident….in a jam emergency!
WOW! What an idea! I am all over this:)
Thanks for a fabulous idea and recipe! Wow! can’t wait to try it. I might try it with water kefir, too!
It would be great with water kefir!
I am hoping this recipie will be the way that I can get some kombucha into my picky eater! Can’t wait to try it out but I’m worried that my blender won’t break up the seeds enough. Can I grind them first and then add them to the rest of the ingredients and blend?
I’m sure that would work just fine
Has anyone ever used keifer water instead of kombucha?
Kefir water might work too
Have you tried to freeze this jam for later use? I love making big batches of jam a few times during the summer months (when i can harvest my own berries) and then benefiting all year round. Do you think that it would be okay to be frozen for longer periods of time?
I have not tried this before but it is worth a try. I have made huge batches of freezer jam in the past. Do it and let me know how it turns out.
Would flax seeds work -have you tried them? I can’t do chia….Thanks!
I have not tried flax seeds, but they gel when blended so they might work too
Genius! Thanks for sharing!
