Grain-Free Chocolate Lavender Brownies
I have added another flavor dimension to my low carb chocolate lavender brownies by topping them with a frosting made from sweetened whipped cream and cream cheese. However, the fresh, interesting flavor in both the brownies and the frosting is a hint of lavender, which makes them super special – and will have your guests guessing about the secret ingredient!
Chef Tips:
- If you can source edible flowers, use them to decorate the brownies in place of the grated chocolate.
- Make this in a round cake tin, and slice eight cake portions instead of nine square brownies.

Grain-Free Chocolate Lavender Brownies
Equipment
Ingredients
- For the brownie:
- 6 oz almond flour
- 5 oz Swerve confectioners’ sweetener
- 1.4 oz unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup coconut oil melted and cooled
- 3 large eggs
- Several drops of lavender essence
- For the frosting:
- 7 oz heavy cream 200g
- 2 TB Swerve confectioners’ sweetener
- 2.6 oz cream cheese
- Several drops of lavender essence
- Grated dark chocolate optional garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and line the base and sides of a 8×8 inch brownie pan with parchment paper.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted into the center comes out clean. Place onto a cooling rack and leave to cool completely for at least 30 minutes.
- While the brownie cake is cooling, make the frosting. Use a hand mixer to whip the cream and Swerve to stiff peaks. Add the cream cheese and lavender essence and whip one last time to sufficiently combine.
- Spread the frosting over the surface of the cooled brownie cake, then slice it into 9 even-sized squares. If you want, decorate with grated dark chocolate (not included in the macros) or anything else you like!
