  • Bring the chicken bone broth to a simmer in a large pan and add the grits, stirring until it has cooked through, approx. 15-20 minutes.

  • Stir in the milk for added creaminess and add all the grated cheese. Stir well until the cheese melts the consistency.

  • Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper and divide between four warm bowls. Add a pinch of smoked paprika over each bowl and garnish with chilies for an extra kick!

Notes

You can also make your own homemade bone broth.
You could use polenta as a substitute for grits (as I did in my pics), but you may need to adjust your cooking times slightly, as it won’t require that much time in the pan to cook through sufficiently.
