Chia Fig Jam

When you have a lot of figs, don't freeze them. Make this easy jam instead.

  • Slice figs into quarters.

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, cook the figs until they become really soft.
  • Add in the honey, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.
  • Mash them with a potato masher until you get the consistency that you want for your jam.

  • Add in the chia seeds and stir.
  • Allow to sit for 5 minutes to allow the seeds to gel.
  • Store in a glass container in the fridge. It will last several weeks.
