I grew up making all sorts of cards and pictures to give to family members on holidays and birthdays. They were often decorated with flower stickers, that I had made myself!
When my daughter was finally old enough to learn how to make these I could not wait to teach her How To Make Stickers Out of Real Flowers!
How to Make Stickers Out of Real Flowers:
First you have to gather your flowers
Next, you should buy one of these amazing gadgets! (you can also press the flowers in a phone book, but it will take several weeks until they are ready to use….and who even has a phone book anymore?)
Arrange the flowers on the fabric in the press (please excuse the flower stains on mine, it’s been used MANY times!!!)
Careful to arrange them not overlapping one another and place the leaves and petals in the way you want them to look when dried.
If they are overlapping, they will become stuck together.
Throw this in the microwave and nuke them for a few minutes. Usually about 3-5 minutes, depending on the density of the flowers.
Check the flowers, if they are not dry like paper then put in for another 30 seconds until they are. If the flowers are not dry enough, they will mold.
This is the only thing we use our microwave for!
Here is what they look like dried
Next, tape them down onto some paper. Clear Contact Paper works really well for this!
Then cut them out leaving a small border so they don’t peel apart.
Here is what they should look like. Then put strips of double stick tape on the backside to make them stickers.
You now have stickers made from real flowers…..made in a matter of minutes from when they were picked.
These last a very long time!
I used to use them to decorate hand made cards when I was younger. Big hit with the Grandparent’s!
Now, if you want to make these stickers into magnets for the fridge, you can glue (or use double-sided tape) magnet strips to the back.
I re-use those free magnets that you get in the mail all the time from companies advertising with magnets. Good way to teach the kids to recycle!

Ellie loved her giant Bleeding Heart magnet!!!
Now to organize them amongst all of the other stuff on the fridge
