Many people have asked me: “Do you use essential oils during pregnancy?” YES! Oh yes! I have been using essential oils for years now, so naturally I would continue to use them throughout pregnancy! Let me tell you, they have been a game-changer with my third pregnancy too! Here are the oils that I personally used throughout my pregnancy, and how I used them.

  • Gentle Baby: comforting, soothing, relaxing and beneficial for reducing stress during pregnancy. It is also very good for the skin. I add it to my Stretch Mark Miracle Oil.
  • Frankincense: considered the “holy anointing oil”. You will find it in many skin care recipes as well. I mix it with my FAVORITE beauty balm
  • Lavender:  relaxes you. I use it mixed with my homemade magnesium oil for cramps (especially leg cramps at night!). I also rub it behind my ears to help me sleep.
  • DiGize: helps alleviate nausea — rub on the inside of your cheek, under your tongue, or on your belly
  • Thieves: helps to support a healthy immune system — rub on the bottoms of your feet or diffuse
  • Joy: I use it to keep my mood up — wear as a perfume, diffuse, use in your bath water for an amazing bath!
  • Peace & Calming: promotes relaxation and a deep sense of peace and emotional well-being. I use it to keep the calm in both me and my kiddos (keep calm and carry on Mama!). You can also rub it on your feet to help with sleep
  • Peppermint: sore neck and head– apply to temples and back of neck. Also helps alleviate nausea
  • Release: to keep calm and help release negative emotions — rub it over your heart or on the bottoms of tour feet. I also wear it on my pendant necklace and diffuse it during times of stress
  • Valor: a blend that was formulated to balance energies and instill courage and confidence. Also promotes restful sleep — rub on the bottoms of your feet or diffuse. I have heard that it is a wonderful oil to help get you through labor and I plan to have it in the delivery room with me this time!
  • Ningxia Red: daily supplement that I LOVE! I have heard many Mom’s say that it helps you have a very healthy placenta too!

If you want to learn more, pick up a copy of Gentle Babies. It is THE book to have if you plan to use oils before, during, or after pregnancy!

  1. Question on the Ningxia Red…it contains Goji (wolfberry) that I was specifically told to avoid during pregnancy. As the main agent in NRed, wouldn't this be an issue?

    1. I have been told by lots of people that it is wonderful to take while pregnant and that they had better pregnancies when they were taking it. So, I figured I would give it a try too. But, I technically cannot advise you either way. Just my personal preference to take it. 🙂
